Mumbai, 8/4(AO Bureau):The news is coming from Mumbai that the wife and her daughter of a filmmaker have committed suicide by setting them on fire. Police said that Asmita, the wife of filmmaker Santosh Gupta (Santosh Gupta) and daughter Srishti, allegedly committed suicide at her house in DN Nagar, Mumbai’s suburban Andheri. According to the news agency, the police said that the mother and daughter had allegedly set themselves on fire in their apartment in DN Nagar, Andheri (West) on Monday afternoon and the matter came to light when neighbors informed the fire brigade.
According to initial reports, 55-year-old Asmita took the drastic step because she had been suffering from kidney disease for a long time. Due to the trauma of the mother’s illness, the couple’s daughter Srishti also gave her life. The official said that both were rushed to Cooper Hospital where Asmita was declared dead, while 70 percent of the burnt Srishti died at the Airoli National Burns Center on Tuesday.
Senior Inspector Bharat Gaikwad of DN Nagar Police Station said, “We have filed two separate accidental death reports in the case and further investigation is on.” Filmmaker Santhosh Gupta is known for directing small-budget films like ‘absconding’, ‘Romi the Hero’ and ‘Aaj Ki Aurat’. They are yet to give feedback on the whole matter.
