New Delhi, 11/4 (AO Bureau): Under the captaincy of Rishabh Pant, Delhi Capitals made a blistering start to victory in IPL 2021. Team opener Shikar Dhawan was the hero of this victory of Delhi. Dhawan partnered 138 runs record with Prithvi Shaw (72) for the first wicket. Thanks to this partnership, Chennai succeeded in defeating the Super Kings team (CSK) by seven wickets. Dhawan scored 85 runs in 54 balls before being dismissed. In this innings, he hit 10 fours and two sixes. During this, Dhawan made several records to his name. He became the highest run-scorer against Chennai Super Kings. Now he has 910 runs against CSK. He broke the record of Virat Kohli (901 runs). Apart from this, he also became the first batsman to score 600 fours in the history of the league. He was voted man of the match.
Shikhar was seen in so many colors in this innings. It can be gauged from this that he also played sweep shots against the fast bowlers of CSK. Akash Chopra was also stunned by his batting. After the end of the match, he said in a funny tone in the live show, who plays with so much profanity. In fact, his point was towards batting fearlessly against Dhawan’s fast bowlers. After 6 years, both Delhi openers hit half-centuries in the same match. Earlier in 2015, Mayank Agarwal and Shreyas Iyer of Delhi played half-century innings against Kings XI Punjab.
The 138-run partnership between Dhawan and Prithvi for the first wicket is the second-highest partnership against CSK. The record for the biggest partnership against Chennai is in the names of Ajinkya Rahane and Shane Watson. The pair shared a 144-run partnership against Chennai in 2015.
