Cape Town, 25/4 (AO bureau): South African cricketer Bjorn Fortuin has accepted Islam. The 26-year-old cricketer made his international debut for South Africa in September 2019. According to reports, in the holy month of Ramadan, Björn Fortuin accepted Islam with his wife. Now his new name is Imad. Khartija Shamsi, the wife of Fortuin’s fellow player Tabrez Shamsi, congratulated her by sharing a photo of Fortuin and his wife. His wife’s name is Mieshke Ayse.
Fortuin has become the second South African player to convert to Islam. In 2011, medium-pacer Wayne Parnell also changed his religion.
