DCGI approved DRDO’s drug for emergency use against Coronavirus

New Delhi, 8/5 (Ao bureau)Another drug has been approved by the DGCI to fight the outbreak of the second wave of Corona virus. The Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences, a laboratory of DRDO, along with Dr. Reddy Labs, has developed an oral drug of corona. DGCI has approved this drug named 2-deoxy-D-glucose for emergency use in India. If the clinical results of the medicine are to be believed, then this drug helps the corona patients admitted to the hospital to recover quickly. Along with this, it also reduces the oxygen requirement of the patients.

 

It has been revealed in the results that the report of patients taking this drug has come negative in the RT-PCR test. In such a situation, this medicine can prove to be very beneficial for the people of India who are facing the second wave of epidemic.

 

In April 2020, the use of this drug of Covid-19 was started. Its initial results were very good, after which its clinical trials started in May 2020, which were completed in October 2020. In the third phase clinical trial, people were given doses of this drug, which saw very good results. DRDO scientists say that these drugs will soon be available in the market for the treatment of Kovid patients.
