New Delhi, 23/5 (AO Bureau): After the Tauktae Cyclone, there is now a threat of Yash storms on the eastern coastal areas. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal to be converted into Cyclone Hurricane Yaas Cyclone and it is expected to hit the West Bengal and Odisha coast on May 26. Prime Minister Narendra Modi (Narendra Modi) held a virtual meeting with officials and ministers on Sunday to review the preparations to deal with this storm. In this, PM Modi directed that people should be evacuated to safe places on time from the places of potential danger. Home Minister Amit Shah was also present in the meeting.
After this review meeting, it has been said from the Prime Minister’s Office that the National Disaster Response Force, or NDRF, has already deployed 46 teams to deal with cyclone Yash. 13 teams are going by air today. Along with this, the Indian Coast Guard and Navy have deployed ships, helicopters for relief, search, rescue operations.
During the meeting, PM Modi instructed the officers to reduce the time of reduction of electricity and telephone network. During this time, PM Modi has also asked the officers to prepare guidelines for what to do and what not to do at the time of the storm. He said that these guidelines should be issued to the people in local language also.
In the meeting, PM Modi was informed that the Cabinet Secretary had held a meeting of the National Crisis Management Committee on 22 May. This included the principal secretaries of all coastal states and the concerned ministries and agencies.
