UK, 24/5 (AO Bureau): After the postponement of Indian Premier League 2021, the biggest challenge in front of the BCCI is to make the remaining matches. According to reports, the BCCI wants to conduct these matches in England in September and for this, they have approached the ECB. According to media reports, the BCCI has demanded from the ECB to change the schedule of the India-England Test series so that they can organize the IPL 2021.
According to a report in England newspaper Telegraph, the BCCI has told the ECB to either start the first Test a week earlier or the fifth Test of the series should be canceled. Let us tell you that the Test series between India and England will begin in Nottingham from 4 August. At the same time, the fifth test of the series is to be held in Manchester from 10 September.
Will IPL 2021 be held in England?
There are reports that the remaining matches of BCCI IPL 2021 can be held in England only. The county teams of England have also offered the BCCI to organize IPL matches. If the BCCI organizes the remaining matches of IPL 2021 in England, then the ECB can benefit financially. ECB has suffered a lot due to Corona, so it can think on the offer of BCCI.
England’s weather will be a hindrance!
However, former England cricketer Monty Panesar suggested not to organize IPL 2021 in England. According to Monty Panesar, if the IPL is held in England in the month of September, it can wash many matches of the tournament in the rain. Actually, there is a lot of rain in England in September and due to this many matches can either be canceled or they will be less than 20 overs.
