New Delhi, 25/5 (AO bureau): The court of Delhi deferred hearing on the bail plea of businessman Navneet Kalra, accused in the black marketing of Oxygen Concentrator. Now the hearing on this matter will be held on May 28. Let us tell you that in the raids of the past days, the police had recovered 524 oxygen concentrators from Kalra-owned Khan Chacha Restaurant Town Hall and Nege & Zoo Restaurant. Kalra is in judicial custody till June 3 in this case.
Metropolitan Magistrate Swati Sharma has fixed the matter for hearing on May 28 at 12 noon. The request for postponement of the hearing was made by Vishal Gohri, counsel for the accused. The court has already deferred hearing on the bail petition twice, on May 20 and May 22. On May 22, the District Court dismissed the Delhi Police’s plea to send Kalra for custody for five more days for questioning.

At the same time, another judge in the case rejected a similar application on 20 May and sent Kalra to judicial custody for 14 days. Earlier, Kalra was sent to police custody for three days after his arrest. He was formally arrested the next day after he was arrested from Gurgaon on 16 May.
Police claim that oxygen concentrators were imported from China and were being sold for Rs 50,000 and Rs 70,000 instead of Rs 16,000 and Rs 22,000. Oxygen concentrators are important equipment for patients affected by Kovid-19 and these devices have been in great demand in the second wave of the epidemic.
