Mumbai, 29/5 (AO Bureau):The Cricket Board of India (BCCI) will organize the remaining matches of IPL 2021 (IPL 2021) in the UAE. BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla has given this information. A decision was taken in this regard in the BCCI Special General Meeting. The BCCI is preparing to conduct the remaining matches of the IPL in September-October. The remaining matches of IPL 2021 can be started from 19 or 20 September, while the final match will be played on 10 October in the UAE. The BCCI will ask the ICC till July to take a final decision regarding the T20 World Cup. This year, the T20 World Cup is proposed in India in October-November. If the situation does not improve in India, the World Cup can also be held in the UAE. The IPL 2020 was also played in the UAE due to the Corona epidemic.
Significantly, on May 4, the board postponed the 14th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) indefinitely after several players were found to be Corona positive in the bio bubble.
T20 World Cup still expected to be held in India
The ICC has to take a final decision on the right to host the T20 World Cup. For this, the ICC will meet on June 1. After being in Australia last year, the T20 World Cup was canceled due to Corona epidemic after which India got the right to host. BCCI will ask for ICC for T20 World, know what was decided in the meeting
Sachin Jai Shah of the BCCI said in an official statement, “The BCCI completed the remaining matches of the Vivo Indian Premier League 2021 season in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the months of September-October this year in view of the monsoon season in India on Saturday. It has been decided to resume the IPL by unanimous participation of all the members in the Special General Meeting (SGM). ”
Ranji players did not get relief
There was no discussion in the SGM on the issue of payment to domestic players. 700 players have been affected due to the canceled Ranji season due to Kovid-19. The BCCI had assured financial assistance to the players in January last year but had not told about its method. It is learned that one of the state associations raised the issue, but Sourav Ganguly and Rajiv Shukla turned it down, not calling it part of the agenda.
