New Delhi, 2/6 (AO Bureau):Team India will leave for England tour on Wednesday evening. During this long tour, the team has to play the final of the World Test Championship and a 5-match Test series against England. The team’s final Test will end on September 14. From June 3 to September 14, the team will be in England for 104 days. During this there will be a total of six Tests i.e. matches for 30 days. Whereas the team will not play any match for 74 days. Former India captain Dilip Vengsarkar has already raised questions on Team India’s tour. He had said that the long gap between the final of the World Test Championship and the England series is beyond comprehension. The women’s team will also go along with the men’s team.
No player will be able to leave the hotel for the first 3 days. There will be daily test. After all the three reports come negative, from June 6, players will be able to train in small groups. From June 12, the entire team will practice together after completing the quarantine. The final of the World Test Championship is between India and New Zealand from 18 June. Virat Kohli has not won a single ICC trophy under his captaincy. In such a situation, his eyes will be on the title.
If total overs are not bowled in 5 days then use of 6th day
The final of the World Test Championship is to be held from June 18 to 22. 23 June is Reserve Day. It will be used only when the entire over of the game cannot be completed in five days. This will be decided by the match referee. If the match is a draw or a tie, both the teams will be declared joint winners. Till now only one ICC trophy had seen a joint winner in the final of the Champions Trophy between India and Sri Lanka in 2002. Kohli would like to become the fourth captain to do so.
