New Delhi, 18/6 (Ao Bureau): The trial of the Novavax vaccine on children may start at Serum Institute of India from next month i.e., Covovax. This information has been found in a report. Novavax had announced a production deal with Serum in September last year. Serum has expressed the hope that covovax may be launched in the country by September. Novavax had informed that the vaccine has given better results in the recent trials.
The Indian Express report quoted sources as saying that Serum may start the trial of Novavax’s covid-19 vaccine NVX-CoV2373 from July. This week Novavax announced that the vaccine has produced great results in the PREVENT-19 Phase 3 trial. These trials were conducted at 119 sites in the US and Mexico. According to the data received after the trials, the overall efficacy rate of the vaccine was 90.4 percent. After the announcement of the trial data by Novavax, the head of the covid-19 task force in India also talked about the trials soon. He appealed to the serum to start clinical trials of this vaccine without delay on the children’s population. Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, Paul said that publicly available data also indicate that the vaccine is safe and highly effective, according to the language.
