The number of matches will increase

From next season, the number of teams will be 10 instead of 8. In such a situation, the number of matches will also increase. However, the BCCI has not yet announced what will be the format of the tournament after the increase in the number of teams. It can be organized by dividing the teams into two groups in addition to the current round robin. 76 to 94 matches can be played. For this BCCI will need a bigger window. The workload of the players will also increase. Next year’s T20 World Cup matches are also to be held in Australia.

There are also reports of the second phase of IPL 2021 starting from September 19 in the UAE. However, its schedule has not come yet. Due to Corona virus, the first phase in India had to be postponed midway on 4 May. Till then only 29 matches of this league were played. 31 matches are yet to be played. After this season, matches of T20 World Cup are also to be played in UAE.
