New Delhi, 4/7 (AO Bureau):The new season of the World Test Championship (WTC) is to start from August 4. Team India is ready under the captaincy of Virat Kohli. The team has to play a five-match series (India vs England) in England. However, even before the series, the team has suffered a major setback. Shubman Gill has been ruled out due to injury. The team management has demanded Prithvi Shaw in his place as an opener.

Prithvi Shaw is in good shape right now. He scored more than 800 runs in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and also made the team champion. After this he also performed brilliantly in IPL. He is currently included in the team that went on the tour of Sri Lanka. On the Sri Lanka tour, the team has to play a series of three ODIs and three T20 matches. Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan are set to open. Both made many important partnerships for Delhi Capitals in the IPL.

Talking about 21-year-old young batsman Prithvi Shaw, he has the experience of 8 international matches. He has scored 339 runs in 5 Tests at an average of 42. 1 century and two half-centuries. At the same time, he has scored 84 runs in 3 ODIs. 40 runs has been the biggest score. Prithvi made his Test cricket debut brilliantly. But two Tests in New Zealand and one Test played in Australia i.e. a total of 6 innings put a brake on his career. During this he could score only one half-century.
