Manipur, 9/7: Earthquake tremors were felt in Ukhrul in the north-eastern state of Manipur on Friday morning. It is reported that the earthquake occurred at 5:56 am, which has a magnitude of 4.5 on the Richter scale. National Center for Seismology has given this information. At present, no damage has been reported in this natural phenomenon. Northeast India comes in a very sensitive area from the point of view of earthquakes. Earthquake tremors are felt here again and again.
On June 20, an earthquake of 3.6 magnitude had hit Ukhrul district. The NCS had informed that this earthquake occurred in the north-west part, 20 km from Shirui. At the same time, about a month before this, on May 23, the earth trembled on Sunday morning in Ukhrul district. During that time its intensity was recorded at 4.3 on the Richter scale. An earthquake of similar intensity also occurred on 15 May.
