India to host UNSC meeting next month

New Delhi, 14/7 (Ao Bureau)Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Foreign Secretary Harsh Shringala during the Indian Presidency of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) next month at high-level meetings on issues important to the global world, including maritime security, UN peacekeeping and counter-terrorism. will preside over. Jaishankar and Foreign Secretary Shringla will visit New York next month, where they will guide the tenure of a month-long Indian presidency of the UNSC in 2021. India is a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for two years. This period will be completed at the end of 2022.

 

Foreign Secretary Shringla will leave for New York on Wednesday morning. During the two-day visit, Shringla will hold meetings with Indian officials at the United Nations and finalize India’s action plan after discussions with India’s Permanent Representative TS Tirumurti. During his official meeting on July 15 and 16, Shringla is expected to meet French Foreign Minister Jean-Ves Le Drian, Britain’s Interior Minister and other UN dignitaries.
