Bhopal, 16/7:There was a meeting between former Madhya Pradesh (MP) Chief Minister Kamal Nath and Congress interim President Sonia Gandhi on Thursday. During that time there were reports that Kamal Nath could be made the working president of the party. However, now the senior Congress leader himself has denied these reports. He has said that these things are nonsense and he keeps meeting Sonia Gandhi on issues related to the party. He informed that during this the ongoing tension in Punjab Congress was discussed.
In a conversation with NDTV, he said, ‘The talk of me becoming the Congress President is nonsense. I keep meeting Sonia Gandhi and have been discussing issues related to the party. Apart from this, it was also being said that through this meeting, the Congress is looking for an alliance formula for the 2022 assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. There was news of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also attending this meeting.
