New Delhi, 26/7: The economy of the country has been affected due to the Corona crisis. Since last year till now the jobs of lakhs of people have been lost and the employment of crores of people has come to a standstill. In such a situation, many economists and experts suggested the central government to strengthen the economy by printing new currency notes and to save the jobs of the people. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman replied to this in Parliament today. She told that the government has no plan to print currency notes to deal with the current economic crisis caused by the Corona epidemic.
‘GDP is expected to decrease by 7.3 percent’
Finance Minister Sitharaman was asked in the Lok Sabha on Monday whether there is any plan to print currency to deal with the economic crisis? To this he said no sir. There is no such plan. Finance Minister Sitharaman said in a written reply to another question in the Lok Sabha that India’s real GDP is expected to decline by 7.3 percent during the financial year 2020-21. He said that the estimated reduction in the growth rate is due to the measures taken to prevent the corona epidemic.
