New Delhi, 27/7 :West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday. During this, Mamta raised the issue of corona situation and vaccine in the state. Talking to reporters after meeting PM Modi, he said, ‘Today, there was a courtesy meeting with the PM. During the meeting, I raised the issue of corona in the state and the need for more vaccines and medicines. I also raised the pending issue of changing the name of the state. On this he said that he will look into the matter.
Earlier, he had met senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Kamal Nath and Anand Sharma. She is also likely to meet President Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee arrived in Delhi on Monday for her five-day visit. This is Mamata’s first visit to the national capital after assuming power in West Bengal for the third time.
The Trinamool supremo will also meet Congress chief Sonia Gandhi at 10 Janpath on Wednesday. He is scheduled to meet many other leaders of opposition parties including Abhishek Manu Singhvi. Sources in the Trinamool Congress said that during the July 26-30 visit, Mamata Banerjee may also visit Parliament, where the monsoon session is going on. Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Banerjee will hold talks with opposition leaders in the national capital to explore the possibility of forming an alliance of anti-BJP parties ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
