Now the Khel Ratna Award will be given in the name of Maj Dhyan Chand: PM Modi

New Delhi, 6/8: The Khel Ratna Award given in India will be named after Major Dhyanchand, who is called the magician of hockey. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced this on Friday. He has said that citizens were demanding this for a long time. After the new announcement, the award will now be called Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award. The special thing is that a day earlier, India won the bronze medal by defeating Germany in the ongoing Tokyo Olympics 2020.

 

 

PM Modi tweeted, ‘Amidst the moments that have made the country proud, the request of many countrymen has also come to the fore that the name of Khel Ratna Award should be dedicated to Major Dhyan Chand ji. Considering the sentiments of the people, it is now being named Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award.
