Father did not travel in bus for years to feed Ghee to Bajrang Punia, even left home, now won bronze in Tokyo

New Delhi, 7/8 (AO Bureau):Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia finally did what was expected of him in the Tokyo Olympics. Bajrang Punia won the bronze medal in the freestyle wrestling 65 kg category. Bajrang defeated Kazakhstan wrestler Niyazbekov Daulat in a one-sided fashion. Bajrang did not lose a single point in the bronze medal match and his medal victory in his very first Olympics brought a smile on the faces of all Indians. After the victory of Bajrang Punia, there is an atmosphere of happiness across the country, especially in Haryana. His mother kept a fast for the victory of his beloved and father Balwan Poonia was sure that his son would definitely bring an Olympic medal. Let us tell you that his father Balwan has a big hand in making Bajrang an Olympic champion.

When Bajrang Punia Bronze Medal was just 7 years old, his father Balwan had decided to make his son a wrestler. Balwan Poonia left even the city for his son’s training. Born in the Khudan village of Jhajjar, Bajrang was put in the arena by his father since childhood. Bajrang’s father Balwan himself was a well-known wrestler but due to poverty, he could not make a career in wrestling. But Bajrang’s father decided to settle from Jhajjar to Sonipat for his son’s training. Let us tell you that when Bajrang was young, he also faced problems like financial crisis. Balwan Poonia did not even have money to feed his son with ghee. For his son’s diet, the strong Poonia stopped commuting by bus and he himself started walking on a bicycle. Bajrang did not give up even in the midst of these conditions and today he has become an Olympic medalist.
