New Delhi, 14/8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced to celebrate ‘Vibhajan Vibhishika Memorial Day’ on 14 August across the country. On Saturday, he tweeted that this day will be celebrated in memory of the people’s struggle and sacrifice during the partition. He has said that this will reduce the poison of discrimination and ill-will. 75th Independence Day will be celebrated in the country on 15th August.
The PM tweeted, ‘The pain of partition of the country can never be forgotten. Due to hatred and violence, lakhs of our sisters and brothers had to be displaced and even lost their lives. In memory of the struggle and sacrifice of those people, it has been decided to celebrate 14th August as ‘Vibajan Vibhishika Memorial Day’. Not only will it inspire, but it will also strengthen unity, social harmony and human sensibilities.
