New Delhi, 16/8: The Delhi government has started work on converting all its diesel and petrol-powered cars into electric vehicle. In February this year, the Transport Minister of Delhi Government Kailash Gehlot announced this. Transport Minister Gehlot had said that all leased or hired cars used for movement of Delhi government officials will be converted to electric within a period of 6 months. The Delhi government has now started implementing this. The Delhi government is trying to start using electric vehicles in all departments by the last week of August.
The notification was issued by the Delhi government on 7 August 2020.
Let us inform that the notification of the policy for electric vehicles in Delhi was issued on August 7 last year. Since then, Delhiites are getting the benefit of subsidy on registered e-carts. However, in the last one year, after the arrival of two waves of corona in the city, there has been an impact on the sales of vehicles. Despite this, sales of electric vehicles have increased once again since June 2021.
