West Bengal: 5 teachers took poison outside Education department

Kolkatta, 25/8: Five teachers of a primary school Shishu Shiksha Kendra in West Bengal allegedly consumed poison outside the Education Department Headquarters on Tuesday. All these teachers were protesting outside the Headquarters of the Education Department regarding their demands related to the job. Soon after the teachers consumed the poison, they were admitted to the hospital, where the condition of two is said to be critical.

 

According to the information, all these teachers were protesting against the transfer which took place about 600 to 700 km away from their home under the banner of Teacher Okya Manch (Teachers Ekta Manch). All these teachers have been kept on contract and now they have been transferred far away from their homes. It is reported that when the teachers were protesting outside the Headquarters of the Education Department, the police reached there and they tried to remove the teachers from there. After this, the five female teachers took out the bottle of poison and drank the poison in front of the policemen.
