The gap between Covishield vaccines will be reduced

New Delhi, 26/8: The gap between the two doses of the Covishield vaccine can be reduced amid fears of a third wave of corona. An official said, “The idea is to reduce the interval between two doses of Covishield. This is yet to be discussed in the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization in India (NTAGI). At present, where the interval between two doses of Kovishield is three months, it is now discussed that it can be reduced. According to sources, it will also be discussed in NTAGI before taking a final decision on this.

Earlier this month, Dr. NK Arora, chairman of the covid-19 Working Group, said that the gap between the two doses of the Kovidshield vaccine can be reduced. He said that this difference will be reduced only for people aged 45 years or more. This decision will be made on the basis of scientific evidence. Currently, all adults are receiving the second vaccine at a gap of 12 to 16 weeks after taking the first dose of Covishield vaccine.
