Chandigarh, 28/8: Amidst the long-running infighting in the Punjab Congress, the Aam Aadmi Party has challenged the Captain Sarkar to prove majority in the assembly. In this regard, a delegation of Aam Aadmi Party MLAs has submitted a memorandum to the outgoing Governor of Punjab, VP Singh Badnore. The delegation was led by senior AAP leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Harpal Singh Cheema and included MLAs Amarjit Singh Sandoa, Jai Singh Rodi as well as leaders Jagtar Singh Sanghera and Malvinder Singh Kang. On the other hand, Shiromani Akali Dal has also warned the government to face no-confidence in the one-day assembly session to be held on September 3.
The Aam Aadmi Party has claimed that the government led by Captain Amarinder Singh has been reduced to a minority. The leaders said that if the CM hesitates to prove his majority in the next seven days, then the present government should be dissolved. Cheema said, if the rebel Congressmen want to save Punjab, then they need not go to Dehradun or Delhi. Instead of doing all this, he should submit his resignation to the governor and get a no-confidence motion filed in the assembly.
