Manchester, 11/9: The Manchester Test against England was canceled due to one after the other corona infection cases in Team India. For this, the British media blamed the Indian team’s head coach Ravi Shastri, while former England captain Mike Earthton is telling the IPL as the reason for the cancellation of the 5th Test. However, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) chief Tom Harrison has a different opinion from Earthton. Harrison said that the resumption of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) has nothing to do with the cancellation of the fifth Test.
The remaining 31 matches of IPL 2021 are to be held in UAE from 19 September. IPL 2021, which started in India, was suspended earlier this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. After the cancellation of the 5th Test, former England captain Mike Earthton told Sky Sports, “The real issue is the IPL…the players are concerned about their participation in it and the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) is undoubtedly concerned about that tournament.”
