New Delhi, 17/9:The limited overs cricket series (PAK vs NZ Series Abandoned) series between Pakistan and New Zealand has been canceled on the occasion. Due to security reasons, the New Zealand Cricket Board decided not to play the series on Friday. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is telling this series to be postponed and is ready to organize it in the future. The special thing is that Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan also tried to organize the series and spoke privately to New Zealand’s PM but no solution could be found.
The PCB made several tweets one after the other and talked about the postponement of this series, but the New Zealand Cricket Board (NZC) issued a statement and confirmed its cancellation. New Zealand were to play the first three ODIs in Rawalpindi before heading to Lahore for the five-match T20I series, which was to begin on Friday but was called off at the last minute. The New Zealand team had to play its first match on Pakistani soil since 2003.
According to the NZC statement, “In view of the increasing threat from the New Zealand government and following the advice of the Board’s security advisors, it has been decided that the team will not play a cricket series on this tour.” Arrangements are now being made to recall the team.’ Board CEO David White said that it was not possible to continue the tour given the advice he was receiving.
