Ration Card Service will be available in more than 3.7 lakh CSCs

New Delhi, 19/9:Ration card related services will now also be available in more than 3.7 lakh Common Service Centers (CSCs) across the country. Every problem related to ration card will be resolved immediately at these centers. These services include applying for a new ration card, updation of details and linking it with Aadhaar. This step will directly benefit 23.64 crore ration card holders across the country. The Department of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution has tied up with CSC e-Governance Services India Limited, a special unit working under the Ministry of Electronics and IT.

What services will be available to ration card holders in CSC
The purpose of this agreement is to ease the supply of ration in semi-urban and rural areas and strengthen the Public Distribution System (PDS). Food and Public Distribution Department and CSCs have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for ration card services through 3.7 lakh CSCs in the country. With this partnership, 23.64 crore ration card holders across the country will be able to easily update their details by visiting the nearest CSC. At the same time, people will be able to get a duplicate copy of the card, link the card with Aadhaar, get information about the availability of ration and lodge a complaint.
