Deogarh 29/9: In a major development , Ajit Kumar Mohapatra, In-charge Superintendent . of Excise, Deogarh has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance on 29.9.2021 while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.1.5 Lakh (Rupees One Lakh Fifty Thousand ) from a Complainant (vendor) through Sri Mathura Mohan Pradhan, ASI of Excise, Deogarh from a licenced foreign liquor Vendor.
In this connection, Rourkela Vigilance P.S. Case No.9 dt.28.09.2021 U/s 7 P.C. (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Simultaneous house searches have been launched in Deogarh & Berhampur. Investigation in progress against Sri Mohapatra, I/c Supdt. of Excise and Sri Pradhan, ASI of Excise. Detailed report follows.
