Chandigarh, 5/10:Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi met Home Minister Amit Shah at his residence in Delhi today. After this he said that I spoke with the Home Minister on the Lakhimpur Kheri matter. We will not tolerate what happened in UP. CM said that I requested him that the agriculture law should be withdrawn. At the same time, he said that he was also discussed about the opening of the Kartarpur Corridor, on his behalf it has been said that he will soon take a decision on the corridor.
Earlier in Chandigarh, the CM had said that he would raise the issue of Lakhimpur Kheri during his meeting with Amit Shah. Let us inform that CM Charanjit Singh Channi along with some ministers of the state government and Congress MLAs demonstrated against the violence in Lakhimpur Kheri in the Gandhi Memorial building complex in Chandigarh. After that he left for Delhi.
On Sunday, BJP workers on their way to an event to welcome Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya in Lakhimpur Kheri had allegedly crushed protesting farmers with vehicles. After this violence broke out. Eight people, including four farmers, died in this violence.
Charanjit Channi said that the violence in Lakhimpur Kheri reminded him of the Jallianwala Bagh incident of 1919. The Punjab Chief Minister alleged, “The manner in which the SUV car was overturned and killed on the peaceful protesting farmers was done deliberately.” Looks like this kind of incident.
