I donot think Mahatma Gandhi is the father of nation:Grandsonof VD Savarkar

New Delhi, 13/10: Ranjit Savarkar, the grandson of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, says that in a country like India, no one person can be the Father of the Nation. He said, ‘In a country like India, thousands of such great men were forgotten who helped to build this country. The history of this country is 5000 years old. According to me Gandhi is not the father of the nation. This country is not only forty-fifty years old. Even I do not believe in the idea of the Father of the Nation.

Actually a new debate about Veer Savarkar has started after a book. Earlier on Tuesday, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat had said that today there is a lack of correct information about Veer Savarkar in the country. He said that the country needs the thoughts of Savarkar. Bhagwat said that there was a campaign to defame Savarkar in the country. He said that there is an attempt to add Savarkar.

Bhagwat said that in the Indian tradition, the meaning of religion is connecting, it cannot be associated with worship. There is humanity in today’s language. He used to use the word Hindutva but it was not understood as such.
