Mumbai,14/10:Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and minister in Maharashtra government Nawab Malik accused the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) of working with “malicious intentions”. At the same time, he said that he would move the High Court for the quashing of the charges against his son-in-law Sameer Khan, against the agency and the harassment faced by him. NCB had arrested Khan in January. He got bail last month.
Malik alleged that the NCB had shown 200 kg of herbal tobacco to be ganja and had prepared photographs of the seizure at the office. He said that the NCB did not find anything in the raid on Khan’s office. Malik said that the media was given false information about the seizure of 200 kg of ganja. The NCP leader alleged that NCB was selectively leaking information of big names for cheap popularity.
Recently, Malik had also said that he has been getting threatening calls ever since the revelations on the NCB raid in Mumbai. He informed that his security has been increased after complaints of threats. In a detailed bail order on Wednesday, the special court said that there is no drug smuggling and conspiracy case against Khan. He was granted bail last month.
