Michael Slater arrested for domestic violence

Sydney, 20/10: Australian cricket great Michael Slater was arrested in Sydney on Wednesday on charges of domestic violence. Local media reported that 51-year-old Slater had been arrested in connection with an alleged incident last week. New South Wales Police confirmed they have detained a 51-year-old man on Sydney’s North Beach.

 

In a statement, the police said, “After receiving a report of a domestic violence incident that allegedly took place on Tuesday 12 October 2021, officers attached to the Eastern Suburban Police Area Command launched an investigation yesterday. After questioning, the police went to a house in Mainly at around 9:20 am today and spoke to the 51-year-old man. Since then he was arrested and taken to Mainly police station.”

In 2004, he took retirement and after that became a full time cricket expert and commentator. Born on 21 February 1970 in New South Wales, Slater has played 74 Test matches for Australia. He scored 5312 runs in Tests at an average of 42.83. At the same time, this right-handed opening batsman has scored 987 runs in 42 ODIs at an average of 24.07
