A lockdown has been imposed in the city of Lanzhou in the northwest of China since Tuesday. The population here is about 40 lakhs. At the same time, on Monday, except the people associated with the essential services of Aijin County of Inner Mongolia, everyone else has been asked to stay in their homes. According to Zhou Min, a transport ministry official, bus-taxi services have been stopped in some cities in Gansu provinces, including the capital Lanzhou and Inner Mongolia, due to the spread of infection. According to the National Health Commission, China has confirmed 26 new cases on Saturday. These include seven in Inner Mongolia, six in Gansu, six in Ningxia, four in Beijing, one in Hebei, one in Hunan and one in Shaanxi. Another four local symptomatic cases were reported in Hunan and Yunnan.
