New Delhi, 2/11:A clinical trial of the second generation Covid-19 vaccine of America’s Axton Bioscience will be started in India soon. Along with reducing the price, its production can also be done quickly. Its dosage can be given again when immunity decreases and there is no need of refrigerator to keep it. Samples of the vaccine have been sent to the Central Drugs Laboratory (CDL) in Kasauli for safety before clinical examination.
The vaccine is initially named AKS-452, it can last at least 6 months in 25 degree temperature and does not lose its efficacy for a month at 37 degree temperature. A senior government official told News18 that the sample has been sent to the CDL in Kasauli and it is expected that the trial will be started at 12 places in the country in a month. Its total sample size has been kept at 1600 people under Phase 2 and Phase 3 in India. These trials will take about a year to complete.
