CM Releases Rs 33 Crore KALIA assistance to farmers in Puri

Bhubaneswar, 3/11: For the Rabi season 2021-22, farmers in Puri district will receive Rs 2,000 as KALIA assistance. Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik made the announcement today. 1,65,131 small and marginal farmers in the district will get Rs 33.03 crore. The money will be deposited directly in the farmer’s bank account.

 

On September 11, the Chief Minister distributed Rs 742.58 crore in black assistance to 37,12,941 farmers across the state. Farmers in Puri district could not be reached for the Pipili by-election.

 

 

Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik has implemented the Kalia Yojana to provide agricultural assistance to small, marginal and landless farming families in the state. This is a landmark initiative for the welfare of farmers across the country, which provides them with financial benefits for the purchase of various agricultural commodities, such as seeds, fertilizers and pesticides and agricultural machinery. Similarly, landless farming families are also able to do various ancillary agricultural work to increase their income.

It has also been particularly helpful in reducing farmers ’debt burden.
