Opinion Poll:BJP to form government in UP

UP, 17/11:The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) can once again form the government in Uttar Pradesh. These signs have been found in an opinion poll. A Times Now-Polstrat poll has predicted that the BJP may come to power with an absolute majority in the UP assembly elections. According to opinion polls, BJP can win 239 to 245 seats out of 403 seats in UP assembly, while Samajwadi Party can stay at number two with 119-125 seats. While the BSP is estimated to be in the third position with 30 seats, the Congress may be confined to five to eight seats.

If the predictions of the opinion polls prove to be correct, Yogi Adityanath will become the first Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh to become the Chief Minister for two consecutive terms. The survey showed strong support for the Yogi government’s stand on law and order as well as its decision to bring in a law to combat ‘forced’ conversions. Although people’s opinion on the Citizenship Amendment Act differed. Most of the respondents saw the decisions of the Yogi government as an attempt to promote communalism. The survey also revealed that those responding to the BJP’s allegation of ‘Muslim appeasement’ against the SP and the Congress have extended support. 9,000 people took part in the survey and it took place between November 6 and November 10.
