New Delhi, 21Veteran New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor believes that playing India on his soil is one of the biggest challenges for any team. However, Taylor refused to divulge details about his plans to deal with Ravichandran Ashwin in the upcoming Test series. The two-Test series between India and World Test Champion Team New Zealand (India vs New Zealand) will start from November 25 in Kanpur.
This series will be part of the second round of the World Test Championship. Ross Taylor said, “It will definitely be a challenge, but I am ready for it. I think there is no more difficult challenge than playing India on their soil or playing Australia overseas. These are probably the two biggest challenges in Test cricket at the moment.” Taylor said on Sunday, “But as a team we are ready for it and we know we are underdogs (Chhuperustam) but we are ready to do well. Huh.”
He said, “Whenever you play India on their soil, you are always the underdog, whether it is the number one team in the world or not.” Veteran batsman Taylor said that the Indian spin of Ashwin and Axar Patel. Dealing with the pair will be the key thing in the Test series for New Zealand. When asked what is his plan to deal with Ashwin’s bowling, Taylor said, “I don’t want to reveal my strategy here. I don’t know which players India decides to field, Axar Patel played a big role against England.
