New Delhi, 9/12: One of the vehicles carrying the mortal remains of CDS General Bipin Rawat, his wife and 11 other officers met with an accident. The accident happened on Thursday at Burliyar near Mettpalayam. There is no report of any casualty in this. Some policemen fell on the road in the accident, local people helped them. Official sources said that another vehicle was called for the mortal remains and they were sent to Samman. The local people paid their respects by showering flowers on these vehicles. It is known that CDS General Bipin Rawat, his wife and 11 other officers died in the helicopter crash on Wednesday.
Earlier on Wednesday, 13 people including CDS Bipin Rawat and his wife were killed in a helicopter crash, while a Group Captain was seriously injured from Russia. The helicopter crashed into a tree while crossing Burliyar on Wednesday, about 10 km from the Wellington helipad. People said that if the helicopter had not caught fire, people could have been saved. The people of Burliyar said that after this accident, many government vehicles have been seen in the area, whereas earlier such number of vehicles did not come.
