Kaniha : A walkathon was organized by NTPC Talcher Kaniha on December 10, in view of National Energy Conservation Week.
K Srinivasa Rao, ED, NTPC Talcher Kaniha inaugurated the event by speaking of NTPC kaniha’s initiatives to save energy. He also urged everyone to contribute to this effort by taking small measures such as keeping electrical appliances off when not in use or switching off lights and fans when not in use.
The theme of the Walkathon was “Save Energy, Save the Planet”. The event was flagged off at DAV School and ended at mahanadi club. Energy Conservation Week is celebrated annually from 8 to 14 December, under the Union Ministry of Power, to showcase India’s contribution to energy conservation and steps taken towards becoming an energy efficient nation.
Shri Vijay Goel, GM(O&M), Shri H N Chakraborty, GM(Maintenance), Shri Sarit Maheshwari, GM(Ash Dyke Management), all departmental HODs, K Swarnalatha Rao, President, Tanvi Sangam along with members of Tanvi Sangam, all union members, teachers and students of DAV school, KV school and Saraswati Sishu mandir participated in the event.
