Bhubaneswar, 22/12:Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today provided financial assistance to the beneficiaries of Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana .The Chief Minister has provided this assistance to alleviate the financial hardships of the poor during Covid. Beneficiaries of the National Food Security or State Food Security Scheme can also get this assistance in the absence of Biju Health Welfare Card. More than 9600,000 families across the state will receive the assistance. The state government will spend Rs 960crore from its own funds for this. The Chief Minister has directed that the assistance be provided to all the beneficiaries within seven days.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the welfare of the poor is the most important program of the state government. The first and second waves of Covida created a challenge for us. This has had a profound effect on their economic and social lives. The poor have suffered a lot. Covid’s influence has not yet been felt. So the state government is providing this assistance to alleviate their suffering.
“Odisha has successfully dealt with the first and second waves of Covid, with the help of the people,” he said. Now Covid’s new version of Omicron is expanding. The chief minister urged the people to be vigilant and abide by the Covid law. The chief minister advised them to wear masks, wash their hands frequently, maintain social distance and avoid crowds unless absolutely necessary
