Uttarakhand Congress finalizes candidates for 45 seats

Uttarakhand, 2/1: In the year 2022, assembly elections are going to be held in Uttar Pradesh as well as in Uttarakhand. In such a situation, both the BJP and Congress parties have started their preparations in full swing. Congress is deeply engaged in electoral churning to get back the power of Uttarakhand. Congress can soon announce the names of its candidates for 45 seats out of 70 assembly seats in the state. It is being told that the party has finalized the name of ticket distribution for these 45 seats and the party can announce these names only in the first week of January.

 

According to sources, out of the total 70 seats in the state, about 20 are such, on which the party is confused about deciding the names of the candidates. The candidates for such constituencies will be finalized after the date of election is announced.

 

 

State Congress Election Screening Committee president Avinash Pandey recently held several meetings in Kumaon and Garhwal regions. The committee members met around 1,000 contenders for party tickets. After this a meeting was held in Delhi, in which former Chief Minister Harish Rawat, Pritam Singh and State Congress President Ganesh Godiyal also attended.

 

 

 

Harish Rawat said, ‘There is another meeting of our Screening Committee on January 3 and after that there will be a meeting of the Central Election Committee on January 9.’ The former CM said that the names have been finalized on about 45 constituencies and approx. There are two dozen seats where the party is looking at various aspects. Sources said that the tickets of sitting MLAs, former MLAs and candidates who lost by a margin of less than 5,000 votes in the last elections are considered confirmed.
