Cuttack, 6/1:Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated a 24-hour drinking water supply system for the city of Cuttack through video conferencing.
All the families in Cuttack have access to 24-hour piped water through the drinking water program inaugurated by the Chief Minister. It has benefited 7 lakh people from 140,000 families in the city. Rs 790 crore has been spent on this. On the occasion, the Chief Minister was happy to say that all families in 60 cities of the state, including Cuttack, have been provided with 24-hour piped water. Soon, all households in all 114 cities in the state will be provided with 24-hour piped water.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister inaugurated the Drink from Tap program in two zones of Cuttack and laid the foundation for the Drink from Tap program for the entire city. Rs 360 crore will be invested in the program. “By December 2023, the entire city will be provided with safe drinking water through the Drink from Tap program,” he said. He encouraged ordinary people as well to take part in solving this great task: “One of the things you and other people can do is keep up the pressure … there are going to be some difficult decisions for government”.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated three Water Treatment Plants worth Rs 430 crore. “Good drinking water is important for all of us,” he said. “Our efforts to provide safe and safe drinking water are also important for the well-being of the people,” he said.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister warned the people about the new variant of Corona and urged them to abide by the Covid rules.
Speaking on the occasion, Home and Urban Development Minister Shri Pratap Jena said that the Chief Minister has always attached great importance to the development of the city of Cuttack and made immediate arrangements for all programs. He said four important projects would be launched in Cuttack by 2022 and a new era in the development of the city of Cuttack would begin.
