New Delhi , 15/1: First T20, then ODI and now Test… Virat Kohli either stepped down or was removed from the captaincy of all three formats one by one. That too within 4 months. A day earlier, he announced his retirement from Test captaincy by posting a lengthy post on social media. After the tweet of BCCI President Sourav Ganguly on his decision, Rohit Sharma, the new captain of the ODI and T20 team, has also shared a post on this decision of Virat.
Sharing an old picture of himself with Virat Kohli on Instagram, Rohit Sharma wrote, “Shocked, but congratulations on a successful stint as Indian captain. Best wishes for the future.”
Let us tell you that before the T20 World Cup, Virat had announced to leave the captaincy of this format in September. After this Rohit was made the captain. At the same time, before leaving for the Test and ODI series against South Africa in December, the BCCI handed over Rohit as the captain of the ODI team as well as the vice-captaincy of the Test. However, Rohit was ruled out of the first Test and then the ODI series due to injury.
