UP, 18/1: Talks could not be made about the alliance between Bhim Army Chief and Azad Samaj Party founder Chandrashekhar Azad and Samajwadi Party in the upcoming assembly elections. After which on Tuesday, Chandrashekhar Azad announced to contest the election alone. Without naming Akhilesh Yadav, Chandrashekhar Azad said that the party will field its candidates on 33 seats. Further seats may be considered. Chandrashekhar said that in our list, 30 percent Dalits, 42 percent OBC, 5 percent ST candidates and other minority people will be given a chance on the rest.
Actually, Chandrashekhar and Akhilesh Yadav had met in the past. After which both the parties agreed on an alliance. But on Monday, Akhilesh had targeted Chandrashekhar by saying that he was the victim of some conspiracy. Akhilesh had said that talks were held on two seats, but they overturned. On this, Chandrashekhar said without naming that the person who turns away from the talk is called cheating. I had a discussion with him about his 25 seats. To get your party recognized in UP, it needs to win 14 seats or 80 lakh votes. So we needed to fight on at least 30 seats.
