Mumbai, 11/2: N Chandrasekhar has again become the chairman of Tata Sons. In fact, the board of Tata Sons on Friday decided to extend the tenure of Chairman N Chandrasekaran for 5 years. Chandrasekaran was made the chairman of Tata Sons for the first time in the year 2017. His term was ending on this February 20.
Ratan Tata is satisfied with N Chandrasekaran
A statement issued by the company said, “Chairman Emirates and Chairman of Tata Trusts Ratan Tata were also present in this board meeting of Tata Sons. Ratan Tata expressed satisfaction over the progress and performance of the Tata Group under the leadership of N Chandrasekaran. Ratan Tata recommended the extension of Chandrasekaran’s tenure for another five years. The Board members also appreciated the tenure of N Chandrasekaran as Executive Chairman and unanimously approved his reappointment for the next 5 years.

Chandrasekaran was made chairman by replacing Cyrus Mistry
N Chandrasekaran was first made the chairman of Tata Sons when the group was going through a leadership crisis. The company had removed Cyrus Mistry from the post of chairman. Mistry had taken the legal route against it. Then Chandrashekhar was responsible for bringing the group out of the crisis as well as increasing the growth of giants like TCS, Tata Motors, Tata Steel.
