New Delhi, 12/2:There is big news for the passengers of Tata Group’s airlines Air India (AI) and Air Asia India (AAIPL). Now if both these airlines are canceled, they will not have to cancel their journey.
The Tata group has said that if any flight of both the airlines is suspended for any reason, then its passengers will be given space in each other’s planes. This is the first step towards mutual cooperation between Air India and Air Asia India. For this, an Interline, Considerations on Irregular Operations (IROPs) agreement has been signed between both the airlines. This agreement will be applicable for 2 years i.e. till 9 February 2024.
Tata group now has 4 airlines
After taking over the control of Air India and Air Asia Express last month, the Tata Group now has a total of 4 airlines. He already had Air Asia India and Vistara. The new management of Air India is focusing on improving the company’s operations, efficiency and quality, keeping in mind this agreement has been signed with Air Asia India.
Air Asia flying in India for 7 years
Air Asia India has been doing business in India for more than 7 years, but till now it has not started any international passenger flight. Tata Group’s holding company Tales Private Limited had on October 8, 2021 won the bid to acquire debt-ridden Air India for Rs 18,000 crore. Now this company has come to the group.
