Tension escalates between Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee

Kolkata, 12/2: There are no assembly elections in West Bengal, but at this time the political temperature is high in the politics of the state. Tension is increasing with Abhishek Banerjee, the nephew of ruling party TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee and general secretary of the party. The situation has become so serious that there are speculations that Abhishek may even resign from his post. In view of the growing rift, the CM (West Bengal CM) called an emergency meeting of senior leaders at the Chief Minister’s residence on Saturday.

 

This meeting was convened by the party mainly to defuse the growing tension over the pressure of MP Abhishek Banerjee to promote the policy of one man, one post. Earlier, the ongoing conflict between Mamta Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee intensified when those who supported Abhishek Banerjee started a campaign on social media regarding One Man, One Post. Many political leaders of the party see this move of Abhishek Banerjee as an initial rebellion against Mamata Banerjee.

 

Abhishek Banerjee will also be present along with CM Mamta Banerjee in this meeting called to remove internal discord. Apart from this, other senior leaders of the party will also be present. Although it has been said on behalf of the party that there is a meeting regarding the strategy of civic elections, but according to TMC sources, this meeting is in view of the growing confrontation between the supporters of Mamta Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee over one person one post.
