Coronavirus vaccine for 12-14 age group to start from March 16

New Delhi, 14/3: Anti-Covid-19 vaccination of children in the age group of 12 to 14 years will start from March 16 in the country. Along with this, now all people above the age of 60 will be given a precautionary dose of anti-Covid-19 vaccines. Earlier this dose was being given only to people suffering from serious illness of this age group. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya gave this information on Monday.

 

The Union Health Ministry said, “Adolescents born in 2008, 2009 and 2010 or who are already above 12 years of age will be vaccinated against Kovid from 16 March. The Kovid-19 vaccine will be Corbevax manufactured by Hyderabad-based Biological E. The government has also decided that the condition of co-morbidity for COVID-19 prevention dose for population above 60 years of age will be removed immediately.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said in a tweet that if the children are safe then the country is safe. He said, “Children are safe, the country is safe! I am happy to inform that from March 16, Kovid vaccination of children in the age group of 12 to 13 and 13 to 14 is starting. Also, all people above 60 years of age will now be able to get precaution doses. I urge the families of the children and people in the age group of 60 plus that they must get the vaccine
