New Delhi, 23/3: In the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022), starting from Saturday (March 26) in Mumbai, this year the spectators will be able to enjoy the matches sitting in the stadium. Organizers said on Wednesday that 25 percent of the total capacity of the stadium has been allowed to enter the spectators. Defending champions Chennai Super Kings will take on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the first match of IPL 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium on Saturday.
“This match will be a momentous occasion as IPL will welcome fans back to the stadium after a brief hiatus due to the pandemic,” the IPL release said. Matches will be played, in which 25 percent of the stadium’s capacity as per the Kovid-19 protocol will be able to watch the match sitting in the stadium. Online sale of tickets for the league phase will start from Wednesday.
