Elections to be held in Jammu and Kashmir soon

Sri Nagar, 1/4: The central government hopes that by the end of this year, it will conduct the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. If sources are to be believed, this process can be completed with the assembly elections of Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. The term of the Vidhan Sabha in Himachal Pradesh is ending on January 8 and in Gujarat on February 18. According to a senior central government official, the process of delimitations of assembly constituencies is going on in Jammu and Kashmir.

 

 

The Delimitation Commission is going to submit its report soon. After this the voter lists will be updated. This process can be completed by June-July. After this, the Election Commission can decide the elections in Jammu and Kashmir based on the information received from the government and security agencies. On condition of anonymity, he told The Times of India, “Once elections are held, the Center will also fulfill the promise of giving full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.”
